My blog is much like the ventriloquist’s dummy. The dummy is able to say much of what the ventriloquist wouldn’t say himself. I use the blog to have a place to talk about some of the things I don’t really talk about anywhere else. Such as the excitement over Megan’s graduation, her first blog, her career choice.
The graduation weekend is going to interesting in itself – since I am not allow anywhere near the ex’s apartment it’s going to make it tough for me to spend time with Megan before the commencement exercise. The good news – my sister Kelley is going to fly in from Virginia – most likely she’ll be able to spend time and stay with Megan. That too makes it rough on me. There’s no restraining order or any crap like that – I’m respecting my ex’s “orders” to Megan. If I go near his apartment most likely he will make life miserable for Megan – talk about your emotional blackmail.
Tell you what – if I would have known then what I know now – I would have let the jerk drag me through the mud. The divorce “agreement” he signed wasn’t worth the paper it was written on. One last time I took him for his word – something to this day still doesn’t mean jack. What an absolute moron I was to think my ex would be a man of his word. Remember the “Communication Breakdown”? He continues to say one thing and do something else. I guess this would not be the weekend to ask for my mother’s silver back.
Okay – I’m to behave myself for Megan’s sake. Jeff’s already told me that most likely my being there will cause even more resentment towards me. Good grief – it’s been almost 10 years – it’s time people grow up, get a life and move on. I’ve made attempts to reach out – the ball is not in my court! Daughter #2 and daughter #1 are supposed to be there – I doubt either one of them will even say boo to me. Poor Kelley – she’ll get to see first hand what I’ve been going through. If would be so nice to be able to go up to Nashville, pick her up at the airport and the 3 of us enjoy the weekend together. On the bright side Megan will get to spend time with Kelley.
A lot has been going on in the past few weeks here at the day job – my suspicion was confirmed that our supervisor (the webmaster) was quitting. That’s thrown us all into a tail spin. Do they hirer someone from the outside or promote from within? Do we polish up our resumes?
