Looks like a plan is coming together for Megan’s graduation weekend. My sister is flying into Nashville Friday morning. I’ll drive up from Birmingham and meet Megan at the hotel we are staying at. She’s going to borrow her uncle’s car to meet me there. Gee – you would think that since her father is in town he could – at the very least – drop her off there. But I guess it’s going to work out for Megan’s best. We’ll pick up Kelley, go eat lunch and then get checked into the hotel. Then Megan and Kelley will go over to her father’s apartment to pick up what she needs for the weekend while I stay at the hotel and wait for them to come back. Remember, I’ve been told I’m not to go anywhere near the apartment – how nice, eh? At least my sister will get to see where Megan lives. Then Megan will bring her stuff back to the hotel. After that I’ll follow her over to where her uncle works so she can return his car. Then the 3 of us may go watch a movie or something. There are no plans to include sister #1 or sister #2 – they already told her they will see her Saturday.
Saturday morning Megan is planning on going and getting her hair done. She has to be at the church (where the graduation exercises will be held) at 12:30 for rehearsal. The plan is for Megan to ride with her uncle so Kelley and I will have my car. The original thinking was I was going alone and might need to escape. With Kelley with me it might be a little easier to deal with the cold shoulder treatment from daughter #1 and daughter #2.
After the graduation – the three of us will stop off at the hotel so Megan can change into the dress she bought for her graduation dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. That’s when it might get dicey – but then it most likely be another Cold Shoulder show. Trying to discuss the summer plans should be a real treat.
Yeah, sure it’s been my daily prayer that daughter #1 and daughter #2 will have a change of heart but as long as they are in daddy’s pockets it won’t change. Daughter #2 turned her nose up at how I had to live after the divorce – we were doing the best we could at the time and a travel trailer was all we could afford – we’ve come a long way since those days 🙂 The wedding I couldn’t attend has long been broken and daughter #1 is remarried.
So instead I pray that we all get laryngitis…
