Leslie Nord's Random Thoughts on Friends, Family and Life

I never was much of a writer - more like a rambler that easily gets lost in a tangent. My blog lets me go out on those tangents any time I want to. So remember, life is like a roller coaster: sit down and hang on. Sometimes you'll want to scream, sometimes you'll puke, but give it a chance and you'll find it can be a lot of fun.

Still around

It’s good to see that I got the Twitter feed working, I just need to remember to tweet to the account that’s tied to my blog. I have way to many accounts – my Miva Merchant friends call me the Sybil of Twitter. I’ve been on the soapbox a bit too much I think, rattling the liberal cages. To say the least, the direction this country is heading just scares me. If I wanted to live in a socialist country, I’d move back to Europe.

I guess the hot weather is taking it’s toll on the daisies. Only one Shasta Daisy bloomed this year. Same with the other daisy plants – I need to remember what genus they are. I think it’s a Shasta variety too.

Besides the ecomm stuff, I’ve been working on something outside of my “comfort zone” – an online magazine – it’s a project we are working on with the father-in-law. I’ve been teaching Megan how to make updates to the blog that is part of the project. She’s been doing a great job. I’m hoping to be able to teach her how to make other updates. Trying to get my hands on an older version Adobe CS – maybe 5 or 5.5. Guess I may need to learn to fly-fish too.

I probably need to be doing some updating of my own here. I have a feeling there are few out of date links that I need to clear out.

Daisies in the Rain

Playing around with the WordPress WebOS app to see if I can figure out how to post pictures from my phone to my blog.

Daisies in the Rain

Just Another Day

August 10, 2010 by leslie Leave a Comment

Spent a few minutes out in the “garden” this morning. It’s been so hot that not much is growing. The daisies seemed to have peaked and are now past their season. The roses just don’t look happy at all. Will have to run back out in a few minutes to turn the water off. Spending a few minutes outside makes for somewhat of a peaceful start to the day.

Those of you who were betting that my knees would be the first "metal" replacements, you lost. I now have a bit of titanium in my cervical spine. I wonder if the doc will give me a pic of the post-op x-rays?

Those who know me, know to send lavender roses and daisies.
